SurroScan cytometry — a proprietary, microvolume laser-scanning cytometry system for analyzing and profiling hundreds of different cell populations and cell-surface markers in small volumes of whole blood and other biofluids.

SurroMed has developed the proprietary SurroScan cytometer, a microvolume laser-scanning cytometry system for the measurement of hundreds of cell populations and cell surface markers in small sample volumes at a sensitivity that compares to flow cytometry. Cell measurements on SurroScan cytometers are highly reproducible, require minimal sample processing, and can be run in high throughput on whole blood and other body fluids such as urine, synovial fluid, sputum, and cerebral spinal fluid.

At SurroMed we routinely run up to 64 3-color assays on any given sample resulting in the identification of more than 200 distinct cell populations by means of their cell surface markers. SurroScan instruments measure absolute cell counts and antigen density on the cell surface. Instrument control, data processing and uploading have been automated for high-throughput operations.

The SurroScan cytometry system provides SurroMed with a rapid and comprehensive assessment of changes in blood cell numbers or types associated with disease.
