SurroMed

Proprietary, mass spectrometry-based methods for differential analysis and broad profiling of proteins and low-molecular-weight organic molecules. SurroMed's approach provides high-sensitivity, linear signal response and high reproducibility, enabling detection and quantification of small biological changes.

SurroMed has developed rapid and advanced proprietary sample preparation procedures and fractionation techniques, which ensure comprehensive and reproducible analysis of biological samples for their protein and low molecular weight components.

The combination of these sample preparation procedures with high-quality liquid and gas chromatography and state-of-the-art, high-resolution, time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometers and ion-trap mass spectrometers, along with proprietary data analysis software, provide outstanding sensitivity and identification power for thousands of biomolecules per analysis.

This infrastructure enables the detection and quantification of small biological changes that are critical to comparative analysis for biomarker identification in samples associated with disease progression or drug intervention.

Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is used to establish structural characteristics, which can be used in association with database and de novo structure queries to identify biomolecules of interest. Structural analysis includes the analysis of post-translational modifications, the identification of mutations in specific proteins, and the differentiation of protein isoforms.
